Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and a commentator working as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C., is a television anchor. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell began her career as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV, Philadelphia in 1967. She joined the CBS station WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. Then she joined NBC News Washington two years following that as general reporter. She began covering the White House in 1981 and was promoted to chief congressional correspondent in 1988. She was promoted to the chief White House correspondent in 1992 and chief foreign affairs reporter of NBC News in 1994. Mitchell hosted and participated as panelists on the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell participated on a panel during the debate in 1988 between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded her Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in the John F. Kennedy School of Government. In 2004, Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) recognized Mitchell for her contribution in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell started covering in the White House in 1981-1988, and during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Mitchell was a reporter on a range of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran Contra scandal, fiscal tax reforms, and arms control. Mitchell travelled along with Ronald Reagan several times for summits, and to discuss issues such as and the Iran Contra controversy.
